Sustainable business development to me means finding a way to do what you love in a way that you love.
The marketing strategy is an essential document for any business, big or small. It is not only a roadmap of the path ahead, but also a benchmark to measure your progress towards your objectives. The marketing strategy can help you make informed strategic decisions, communicate your value consistently and effectively, and ultimately make your business grow in a sustainable manner. More often than not, however, freelance translators don’t take the time to plan and write their marketing strategy properly, so they waste sweat, time and money on improvised and often unfruitful marketing activities.
This workshop will first give you an outline of what a marketing strategy is and what its core building blocks are, to help you get into the strategic mindset needed to design your own marketing strategy. We will then put the theory to practice and will write our own individual marketing strategy with some out-of-the-box, creative, and collaborative thinking. We’ll analyse our external and internal environment, we’ll complete a SWOT analysis of our business, we’ll look at the competition, we’ll set SMART goals and we’ll design our marketing mix. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own personal marketing strategy document.
Sounds like extremely serious business, I know.
But we’ll do it the fun way.
How, you ask? We’ll use paper, colours, stickers, music and movement to get our creative juices flowing. There will be plenty of interesting and stimulating activities and worksheets to help put ideas on paper, and mutual support will be at the heart of this workshop.
This workshop is aimed at entrepreneurial translators at any stage of their career who feel they need to develop a more strategic marketing mindset in a creative way.
